Indore: The district administration in Indore has commenced the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were recently incorporated into the municipal corporation boundaries. Following the expansion of the municipal corporation limits in 2014 to include these villages, residents who currently occupy residential land without a lease or their heirs/transferees may now apply for land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during a recent meeting in Indore, issued instructions in this regard.
At present, landowners in these 29 villages within the municipal limits are facing challenges in selling their properties or securing loans for house construction due to the absence of proper registration, lease, or other documentation. Those in this situation are encouraged to submit applications for land holding rights as per the circular released by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will receive a 30-year lease, enabling them to easily access loans and sell or transfer their properties as necessary.
Camps will be set up on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Eligible applicants will be granted leases under land holding rights following a verification process. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore stated that online applications for leases will be accepted during the camps, and applicants must bring essential documents such as electricity and water supply bills, government office correspondence, 2011 census address details, property tax receipts, and voter list information.
